3DS Studio Max – Flying Steampunk Ship

This is a Flying Steampunk Ship that I teamed up with Iain Aberdour to create. All of the modelling, texturing and rendering was done in 3DS Studio Max. It took us about 3 weeks to complete. There was a lot of emphasis on making the ship realistic, as this was for Modelling for visualisation. Since it was my specific job to create the ship’s base, masts and sails, I stuck true to what a real galleon would look like and turbosmoothed everything accordingly. With all of Iain’s additional parts to give the ship a real completed feel (such as crates, barrels, cannons, and the main front gun) the ship was complete. I also modelled a smaller sailboat, fitted with a propellor to fly away if the ship was in danger.
